The Corner Market is the M Streets premier cafe, deli, and floral market. Established in 2005 by Chuck Cole, the Market resides in the historic Belmont Pharmacy building on the corner of Greenville and McCommas. The nearly 100 year old building went under fastidious restorations in 2005. We uncovered the original terrazzo flooring, refinished the pressed tin ceilings, and rebuilt the transom window using the original ribbed glass.

The vision was simple: provide great food, and amazing flora from the local community, to the local community. Since opening, the market has received a host of accolades and awards, including The Dallas Observers “Best Sandwiches” award, Daily Candy’s “Best Sandwiches” #1 spot, D Magazines “Best Sandwich” and “Best Neighborhood Restaurant,”  as well as a “Top Notch!” endorsement from The Dallas Morning News.

The idea was to provide a neighborhood market to the M Streets community. We built a place where you can sit down outside and meet with your neighbors, friends and family, eat great food, have a latte, pick up distinctive gifts, flowers, or plants, support the local economy, and get back to your roots.

But The Corner Market isn’t just a deli and a shop. No no no! When we say “roots” we’re being literal. Not only does the food taste great, it looks great, GROWING RIGHT ON TOP OF THE BUILDING. That’s right folks, we built a Corner Market ecosystem. The sidewalk herb planters were just the beginning. In 2010 construction went underway for the Corner Market’s rooftop garden, and it’s bursting with seasonal vegetables and flowers, used in the Market’s daily delights.

And it doesn’t end there. The Corner Market is the proud owner of it’s very own neighborhood chicken coop. Swing by in the mornings and get your breakfast burrito loaded with eggs fresh from the hen house, or take them over easy with a side of roasted potatoes. Any way you slice it, you can’t lose.
